The Twelve Hills Cycling Trek

Unsurprisingly, this cycling trek takes us over twelve hills and through beautiful villages in central Bali. The beautiful landscape with tropical forests and astonishing terraced rice cultivation provides a different experience of the island.

Our ride begins with the stunning backdrop of Mount Batu Karu. After conquering a few hills we’ll ride through the breathtaking Jatiluwih Valley to explore the amazing rice terraces that recently gained UNESCO World Heritage designation. This cultural landscape, known as ‘subak’, is an expression of the Tri Hita Karana philosophy, which brings into balance the spiritual, human and natural realms.

After our lunch break we will be back in the saddle as we cycle through beautiful landscapes, tropical jungle, green valleys and traditional Balinese villages. We’ll pull over at a traditional compound in a small village along the way to experience the renowned Balinese hospitality and unique aspects of traditional Balinese life.

We end our trip at a natural wellness center, where we will soak in a therapeutically relaxing and rejuvenating mineral bath, the hot water bubbling up from deep within the Earth. If you find it too hot, crystal clear spring water is there to help cool you off. And to help to really cool you off, refreshing coconut water will be served at the river bank.

12 Hills bike ride begins with that we will pick you up at preferred location.

Once at the starting location, we’ll have safety-talk.

Helmets and gloves will be provided before we take off

The bikeride will take approx. 4-4,5 hours

Snack, Fruit, Water will be offered during the ride

Lunch at Jatiluwih rice paddies will be served approx 12:30- 1 pm

Return to hotel approximately around 6.30-7:00 pm

Yes, it is our most physically challenging ride, but contrary to the saying, THESE uphill battles will only offer you some thrilling uphill pedalling with even more rewarding downhills as we embark on a full adventure day on the magical island of Bali
